Ogden Murphy Wallace, P.L.L.C. is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join our litigation practice in our Seattle office. OMW is a multi-specialty firm primarily serving Pacific Northwest clients for over 100 years. OMW emphasizes a collaborative, team approach to the delivery of exceptional legal services and is seeking applicants who are like-minded with strong research and writing skills, superior academic credentials, and the ability to work closely with multiple attorneys and staff. Candidates must have a strong work ethic, ability to prioritize and manage deadlines, have strong verbal and written communication skills and be detail oriented with excellent proof-reading ability.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of four years of experience in the following areas:
- Assisting with preparation of arguments and drafting legal documents (pleadings, motions, stipulations, discovery requests and responses, complaints, demand letters, etc.)
- Communicating with clients, potential clients, opposing counsel and their assistants, witnesses, court reporters, court officials, messenger services, etc.
- Identifying, locating and interviewing relevant witnesses and experts
- Investigating cases through requesting and reviewing relevant documents, analyzing documents and legal issues and performing fact checking
- Performing legal research; locating cases, opinions, reports and other pertinent information
- Working with ESI vendors to manage the collection, review, and production of documents requested and produced in discovery
- Reviewing, organizing and assisting with the production of discovery documents in electronic document review and production platforms
- Summarizing legal documents, medical records, employment records, etc.
- Organizing and maintaining document files and case materials
- Assisting with trial, pretrial, and motions preparations
Ogden Murphy Wallace offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and Profit-Sharing plan, paid time off, ten paid holidays per year, paid family leave, life insurance, and long-term disability coverage. The compensation range for this position is $74,000 to $105,000 a year. Other compensation includes an annual discretionary profit-sharing contribution and bonus consideration.
