Public Employment

The Public Employment Group at OMW was established to assist our municipal and public entity clients meet obligations and expectations as public employers in the face of ever-changing federal and state laws regulating employment relationships.

Our attorneys address personnel and labor issues relating to all areas of public employment. We represent municipalities and other public entities in Public Employment Relations Commission proceedings, negotiations of collective bargaining agreements, and defense of employment-related litigation, such as discrimination and wrongful discharge.

Our Public Employment Group is committed to helping our municipal and public entity clients understand and comply with the broad range of employment laws that affect them, including Fair Labor Standards Act, Public Employees’ Collective Bargaining Act, Family Medical Leave Act, and the state civil service laws.
